Choir
Elementary Choir (4th – 6th grades) is a performance choir. It is offered once a week after school. They participates in the ACSI Choral Festival where they are evaluated by a judge and perform with other Southern California school choirs. They have their own concert at the end of the school year. Drama
Elementary Drama (4th – 6th grades) is a performance class. Students learn techniques and develop thier stage presence. It is offered once a week after school in the second semester. At the end of the semester, students will participate in the Spring Concert presented by the fine arts department.
Beginning Band
Beginning band (4th – 6th grades)is an extracurricular program offered one day a week after school. It is offered to children in second to sixth grades. They are taught the basics of the instrument they choose to play as well as note reading, counting and beginning theory. This opportunity offers the child the experience of learning to play an instrument as well as learning to play with a group. It helps develop their listening skills and their coordination. This band performs for spring chapels and concert and other venues if ready. This band prepares the child to move up to the advanced band if they are dedicated to growing their gift.
Advanced Band
Advanced band is an extracurricular program offered two days a week before school to children in third through sixth grades. They need to have already played their instrument for one year privately or with a group such as beginning band. In this band the foundations already put in place are grown by playing scales, arpeggios, and very challenging music. More difficult theory is presented to this group. This band also participates in ACSI Band Festival and plays for Chapels, Christmas and Spring Concerts and other miscellaneous venues. This award winning group is for the child that is serious about growing in knowledge and technique and that is dedicated to practicing.
Worship Band
Worship Band is an extracurricular program offered 2-3 times a month after school. It is a rock band format with a worship twist. Students who play guitar, bass, drums or sing can try out to be on this worship band each year. It is a small group specifically selected from all those that audition. Instrumentalists must be able to read chord charts and singers must be able to harmonize. This group leads worship in chapel once a month and will also play any other requested venues.
