3. Financial Aid
Process
The financial aid process consists of four steps -
- Knowledge of the Grace Brethren Schools Financial Aid Qualifications Guideline.
- Completion of the Family Financial Needs Assessment (FFNA)
- Review by the Grace Brethren School Council
- A final funding package sent to you for your review and decision.
Qualifications Guideline
The Grace Brethren School Council understands that there are a number of circumstances that provide obstacles to families seeking to provide their children a Christian education. It is the belief of the School Council that the first step in evaluating the financial means to this goal is to evaluate your personal lifestyle and spending habits. After that has been accomplished, the Council prayerfully and confidentially considers each request. Our financial aid process has been built to ensure consistency and objectivity. We want to assist you in achieving your goals of a Christian education, but must balance that desire with the reality of available funds to meet the many needs that exist. Please prayerfully join us in this process. One note: Grace Brethren Schools does not offer scholarships of any kind.
- You may complete an online application by clicking the FAST logo at the bottom of this list.
- When determining tuition for a financial aid grant, the First Child Tuition Rate is always used for each student.
- Only one discount is offered for each qualifying student. The multi-student discount for a registered sibling is not used in conjunction with the Financial Aid Discount.
- The discount applies to tuition only.
- Financial Aid is available for K1 through 12th grade full-time students. Preschool and The Grace Academy tuition are not eligible.
- Financial Aid will not be extended to students whose grade point average falls beneath 2.5, or who have been placed on academic probation.
- Financial Aid is not available for impacted classes (an impacted class means that the grade level is full at the point in time that the Council reviews the Financial Aid recommendations).
- All Financial Aid Applications must be completed no later than April 15, 2010 in order to have priority consideration for the upcoming school year.
- A percentage of our budgeted aid is reserved for returning families during the school year who face unforeseen financial crisis.
- The aid extended last year shall be reduced by 10% for next school year. For example, if the percentage aid you received in 2009/2010 was 35%, then next school year your maximum aid would be 25%. Our financial aid program is not designed to be depended upon year after year. This permits aid for other qualified families. All aid requests may be re-evaluated.
- Generally, Financial Aid is not available for new Grace Brethren School families. Priority Financial Aid is extended to current school families that have registered for the 2010/2011 school year.
- The processing fee for applying for Financial Aid is never refunded.
- The School Council must approve all aid at the regularly scheduled monthly Council meeting. You will be notified of the results (if you applied by April 15th) after the May 2010 Council meeting. Please do not contact Council members for results. A letter of notification will be sent to you from the School Business Office.
- All parties signing the “Enrollment Agreement” form in the registration packet must file the financial aid forms jointly.
- All accounts must be current in order to qualify for future financial aid.
- This assistance is contingent upon your enrollment in the G-Shop program. This program allows you to shop while supporting the school and creating a stream of adjustments towards your Family Billing Account. For further information and to enroll in the G-Shop program, please visit our website at: www.gracebrethrenschools.com/GSHOP and follow the step by step instructions. We strongly encourage those applying for financial aid to attend a G-Shop workshop. These class dates will be posted on www.gracebrethrenschools.com/events in the near future.
For clarification on any of the above points, you may call the Business Office at (805) 522-4605.
