Josh Starkey

Josh Starkey joined the staff as director of music and corporate worship in May of 2010, although he had been a member of the church since 2005.  He has a long-time love for music, and church music in particular.  His desire is to see the musical part of Grace's corporate worship continue to grow in biblical, theological richness.  He firmly believes that the songs we sing together in church have a huge potential to praise and worship God, as well as teach and encourage gathered Christians to worship God more effectively and passionately in every area of their lives.

Josh graduated from CSUN with a degree in English Literature.  He teaches high school English part-time at Grace Brethren High School, in addition to directing music for the church.

Josh has been married to his wife, Jenny, since 2006.  They live in Simi Valley, and try to spend their time doing one or more of the following: teaching, ministry, reading good books, drinking good coffee, and anything involving the outdoors.
