Philosophy
Our educational philosophy is born out of the belief that God is the source of all truth and the creator of all things; Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, the Savior of mankind in whom is hidden “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3); and, man is a sinner who is by nature estranged from God and who therefore must be born again (John 3:7) and become a new person in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The authority of the Word of God and its directive to parents is to bring up their children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). Grace Brethren School (GBS) exists to assist parents and the church in fulfilling this God-given responsibility with the definitive action to inculcate a God-centered worldview in students that gives meaning and direction to the educative process.
Purpose and Program
The Grace Brethren Elementary School purpose is to seek and to honor Christ by making disciples and teaching them to love God and people. The ultimate objective is that God be glorified in the life of the student (Romans 11:36). Our comprehensive program seeks to instill a firm academic and spiritual foundation while offering a wide variety of both co and extracurricular activities. A core value of our program is the inclusion and integration of scriptural truth in every academic discipline and in every activity of school life. Our program seeks to show how God is revealed in His Word and in His creation. The Word of God is at the center of every class offered and the majority of our curriculum is Christian based, meeting national standards.
