Grace Brethren High School Athletic Program
Overview
At Grace Brethren, we believe that sports are a microcosm of life. If you can be successful in the discipline of athletics, you can be successful in life. Competition will inevitably reveal the heart and character of an individual. Sports serve as an instrument in athletes' lives to allow them to learn who they are while providing an opportunity to make corrections as they seek to imitate Christ. Athletics at Grace Brethren is a tool that we are proud to offer for the purpose of furthering our students relationships with Christ. We desire that athletics will serve as the platform for growth in each athletes relationship with their God, their family, their christian brothers and sisters, and the world. More than anything we desire that God would be honored through the arena of athletics.
Coaching
The primary goal and job of our coaches is to teach our athletes to love God and people. Sports is not just about winning and losing but about teaching young men and women life skills that will enable them to serve their God, family, church and community more effectively. All of our coaches share this common goal and seek to achieve it through the integration of Biblical principles within their specific disciplines. Grace Brethren coaches challenge their athletes to be successful on the field and in the classroom. In the 2008-2009 school year not a single varsity athlete has been ineligible during their season. This is a statistic that proudly reflects our coaches dedication to make sure that our athletes succeed spiritually, academically and athletically. Our coaches also desire to have a successful program, and while winning is not everything, we do desire to do everything with excellence. Grace Brethren coaches have a tradition of building winning programs with CIF championships in Football, Baseball and Volleyball and numerous league championships. Our coaches continue on in this winning tradition today.

What Sets Grace Apart
Grace Brethren has a distinctly unique position due to its combination of size, location within the TCAA, and top level coaching staffs. Within Grace Brethren's system there are athletes who are going to receive a college scholarship for their abilities, as well as students who simply wish to add to their high school experience by playing their favorite sport. A top athlete has the opportunity to come to Grace Brethren, play under great coaching and compete against some of the best athletes in Ventura county. With our size, a student who has never played a sport before, but would like to play, has that ability to come out and learn from our experienced coaching staff, as well as getting the chance to play. It is our unique ability to offer a highly competitive athletic arena combined with the ability for all of our students to join our sports teams that sets Grace Brethren apart from most high schools.
