Lancers Take Third at First Tri-Valley League Tournament

Ojai, CA - Nordhoff High School hosted the first Tri-Valley League Tournament of the 2012 golf season on a beautiful afternoon at Soule Park Golf Course.  Oaks Christian proved impossible to stop as they posted a team score of 375 on route to a 39 stroke victory over second place Oak Park.  The Lions were lead by medalist Victor Ponte who shot a two-under score of 70.  Matt Walling and Peter Griffith backed him up with a one-over 73 and a two-over 74.

Grace Brethren struggled significantly on the opening nine shooting a 237 as a team before rebounding with a 216 on the finishing nine.  Their team score of 453 landed them in third place ahead of Nordhoff's 480, St. Bonaventure's 491 and Malibu's 496.  The Lancers were led by Senior Cameron Dishman who finished in fourth place with a three-over 75.  Joey Leonard shot 89 followed by Dominic Ariondo and Dallas Marvin at 93.  Jack Gilliland completed the scoring for Grace Brethren with a 103.

Grace plays twice next week on the Vineyard Course at RiverRidge Golf Course in Oxnard, CA.  On Monday they will compete against Oxnard High School and will compete in the second Tri-Valley League Tournament on Thursday.
