Event Recap:

Grace Sets New Records at Rustic

Moorpark, CA - Solid, consistent and relentless...the Lancers started on the first hole and didn't let up until the round was over.  Two Lancers had career lows and everyone played well from top to bottom on a day where Grace set new school records for both 9 and 18 holes.

However, despite the Lancers continued improvement, Oaks Christian and Oak Park proved more than Grace could handle with rounds of 375 and 393.  Victor Ponte of Oaks Christian was the medalist for the fourth straight tournament after posting a two-under 70.  Teammate Matt Walling and Oak Park's Alex Kim both shot 1-over 73's and three players tied for 4th place with rounds of 74.

Grace was led by Cameron Dishman and Joey Leonard who tied at 74.  Dishman's score of 74 was a personal best.  Dallas Marvin also had a personal best with his round of 79 putting three Lancers in the 70s!  Dominic Ariondo's 84 and Matt Woodard's 93 helped Grace set a new record of 404, breaking the old record of 414 set earlier this season.  The team shot 201 on the front nine to record a new record for nine holes as well.

With the top three league spots essientially solidified, the focus is shifting to the individual standings.  The top five players from the Tri-Valley League will be eligible for CIF individual playoffs.  Oaks Christian's top trio sit atop the leaderboard through four of the six events.  Victor Ponte sits at 285, Peter Griffith at 300 and Matt Walling at 308.  In fourth place is Cameron Dishman of Grace Brethren at 309 followed by Oak Park's Alex Kim at 311.  Other notables include Joey Leonard at 320, Dallas Marvin at 340, Dominic Ariondo at 347 and Matt Woodard at 401.
