Event Recap: Second Place!!
Ventura, CA - A sensational front nine propelled the Lancers past Oak Park for the first time in today's Tri-Valley tournament. All six players matched or bested their season lows on the front nine to post a team total of 187 - only 7 strokes over par! Both Cameron Dishman (34) and Joey Leonard (35) were under par while Dominic Ariondo (37) and Dallas Marvin (39) were close behind. Matt Woodard had a career best (42) to complete the record round. Grace finished with a new 18-hole low as well at 402.
Oaks Christian (368) finished in front once again but the Lancers managed to slip by Oak Park who posted at 406. Nordhoff moved into fourth place with a score of 430 and St. Bony just beat out Malibu for fifth (337-338).
With next Tuesday's match at Malibu concluding Tri-Valley League play, the individual competition has reached a fevered pitch. Victor Ponte (OC) continues to lead the league at 354 followed by Peter Griffith (OC) at 370. Cameron Dishman (GB) moved into third place this week at 382, moving past Matt Walling (OC) at 385. Currently Rocky Hall (N) and Tom Weaver (OC) are tied for the final playoff spot at 393. The players fighting to break into that group on Tuesday will be Alex Kim (OP) at 394, Joey Leonard (GB) at 395 and Jack Orue (OC) at 396.
