Alum Easton Lucas Drafted by Marlins
Grace Brethren graduate, Easton Lucas was among 14 county players to get drafted in this years MLB draft. As a senior, Easton compiled a 0.54 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched. Also threw three no-hitters as a senior and was named all-state second team as well as all-league first team.
For Pepperdine, Easton had a 4.11 ERA in his sophomore year. He appeared in 16 games for the Waves, starting five of them. He had 29 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched. Easton earned WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll “bronze” honors and graduated as a Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete.

The Grace Brethren Girls' Soccer team came away with a 3-1 win against league opponent St. Bonaventure on Thursday, January 6th. This was no small feat, as the St. Bonaventure's Girls' Soccer team were last season's CIF champions. The last time that Grace Brethren beat St. Bonaventure was in 2018. In the first half of play, Priya Torres scored 2 goals on breakaway passes and had no trouble finding the net. St. Bonaventure answered with a free kick that hit top corner of the Lancers' goal during the 2nd half. With confident momentum, Grace Brethren responded with a well taken corner kick that found Maddie Martinez. Lizzie Brown added an assist during the contest. The Lady Lancers are overall 4-1-2 on the season, and 1-0 in league.
Boys' Soccer came away with a big road win against league foe Villanova Prep on January 11th.
Grace Brethren graduate Sammi Fisher (‘17) had an unexpected surprise during this Christmas season! Sammi found herself rejoicing with her family as she was drafted during the National Women’s Soccer League Draft on December 18th, 2021. The Simi Valley native was drafted 19th overall by the Chicago Red Stars.
