Elementary Summer AR Winners Announced
This summer Mrs. Twichell challenged the kindergarteners and first graders to read 100 books. Our 2nd through 6th graders were challenged to read the most words in their grade and compete to earn their name in the Grace Book of Word Records. Almost 100 students rose to the challenge. Our students set high reading goals for themselves and many of them not only met their goal but exceeded it. Participants have been receiving goodies all week during their time in the library. One fourth grade student, Aaron Mukjerjee, read over ONE MILLION WORDS! Our students' love for reading has become contagious!
What an amazing night everyone had at our Welcome Back Carnival with the music playing and the kettle corn popping! We had games, vendors, Ice cream, and coffee trucks!
The freshman class had a blast at Oxnard Beach Park on Friday. The class gathered together to play games, listen to a devotional, hang out with friends, and play in the water and sand. The retreat was a great way for new and old students to connect outside of the classroom. Students enjoying a device-free event where they can talk face to face, throw a ball around, and enjoy God's beauty is really special.
