Grandparents' Day is a Special Day at Grace Elementary!

God's Word tells us that it is right to honor the generations before us and it is our joy at Grace Elementary to do just that!  Grandparents are such a special part of the lives of our students and we love to honor them every year with a school day set aside for them.  This year, the MPR was filled to overflowing with grandparents and great-grandparents who joined in the assembly with the pledges, recitation of memory verses, and prayer.  Then they were treated to a sneak peak of our musical theater group's upcoming musical, The Jungle Book.  I mean "The Bear Necessities" performed by their grandchildren was the reason for all the smiles and giggles filling the room!  Next, our choir kids sang a sweet version of "Sing, Sing a Song," which left tears of delight in the eyes of many a grandparent.  Mr. Marvin, Principal, along with Mrs. Carter, handed out prizes for traveling the furthest, having the most grandchildren, and for having the most candy in her purse!

After the conclusion of the assembly, the grandparents accompanied their grandchildren to their classrooms where they got to experience a school day and participate in some fun crafts. We hope all our grandparents felt honored and left with a heart overflowing with love and appreciation.  "Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers." Proverbs 17:6.  May the Lord richly bless each and every one.
