Lancer Football Earns CIF Finals Birth
In June, the roster had 7 players and some questioned if there would be a football season for the Lancers this fall. Fast forward five months. . .
The Grace Brethren Lancers overcame a couple of early deficits to defeat the #1 ranked Thacher Toads 43-34 in the 8-man Division 1 semi-finals. In their typical fashion, Grace Brethren received significant contributions from the entire roster. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families who stayed faithful to the cause and are being rewarded for belief in the process.
On to the finals: The Lancers will face Cate HS on Friday, November 19th at 7:00 PM - the championship contest will be played at Carpinteria HS. Come up on Friday, bring your friends, and enjoy cheering Grace Brethren to another victory.
This is Grace Brethren's 3rd appearance in the 8-man championship (3 in 4 seasons since 1999). From 2002-20019 they appeared in eight (8) 11-man championship games (8 in 18 seasons). The Lancers were CIF champions in 1999, 2004, 2017, and 2018.
