Grace Brethren offers a thriving international program. We limit the amount of international students we accept to ensure an authentic American educational experience. Our location in beautiful Southern California, our rigorous academic program and extra offerings, paired with a smaller, caring environment all allow our international students to flourish. Grace Brethren has enjoyed students from Korea, China, Vietnam, Brazil, Tonga, and Australia.

Application Process & Instructions

APPLYING TO GRACE – INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

We are pleased that you are exploring Grace Brethren Schools for your student’s education. International applicants follow the admissions process below:

  1. Submit the online application. Agency representation is required
  2. Email all supporting documents to Amy Henderson at ahenderson@gracebrethren.com
  3. Admissions office contacts you to schedule a Skype interview
  4. Skype interview with an administrator
  5. Receive decision from admissions office (typically within 2-4 days)
  6. Complete online enrollment
  7. Receive I-20
Supporting Documents Needed
  1. English Test Results
  2. Officially translated transcripts
  3. Immunization record translated by doctor’s office
  4. Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport
  5. Two Reference Letters

*Grace Brethren Schools does not coordinate housing or provide health insurance for students. Agencies are required to coordinate housing and submit proof of health insurance upon arrival.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

  • We currently have 420 students on campus, grades 7-12
  • Our number of international students is 49
  • We have students from China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Tonga, and Australia
  • We offer a rigorous, college prep program, including 15 AP classes and honors options
  • 97% of our seniors attend college or university upon graduating
  • We offer ESL English class to new international students
  • All students are required to take Bible courses and attend weekly chapels
  • Teachers offer free, limited tutoring after school in all subjects
  • We limit the number of international students to approximately 10-12% of our total student population
  • Fees/Costs that are not included in tuition are textbooks, uniform shirts, sports fees, and field trip fees
  • We provide I-20s for our international students
  • English test scores guidelines are as follows:
    • SLEP: We do not accept SLEP scores
    • ELTis: 225 or higher
    • IELTS: 7 or higher on the academic module
    • TOEFL: The paper based TOEFL (PBT) - 550 or higher. Internet based TOEFL
    • (iBT) – 80 or higher
    • TOEFL JR: 800 or higher
    • iTEP SLATE (preferred test): 3.5 or higher
    • SSAT – 85%

    ADMISSIONS QUESTIONS

  • Applicants are required to apply through an agency
  • Requirements for admission include a 3.0 GPA and strong English skills
  • Documents for admissions can be scanned or faxed. Originals are not needed
  • We require an English proficiency test for admissions
  • We accept applications for grades 7-11 for students attending in the US for the first time. We will consider senior transfers if they are currently studying in the US.
  • We will consider applicants entering for spring semester, if there are openings.
  • We will accept applicants until enrollment is full. We do not have an application deadline. Applications open in October for the following year
  • We anticipate being at full capacity every year. Early applications are encouraged
  • Once the application and supporting documents are received, we will conduct a Skype interview. An I-20 is issued after applicant is accepted
