The Grace Brethren Girls' Soccer team came away with a 3-1 win against league opponent St. Bonaventure on Thursday, January 6th. This was no small feat, as the St. Bonaventure's Girls' Soccer team were last season's CIF champions. The last time that Grace Brethren beat St. Bonaventure was in 2018. In the first half of play, Priya Torres scored 2 goals on breakaway passes and had no trouble finding the net. St. Bonaventure answered with a free kick that hit top corner of the Lancers' goal during the 2nd half. With confident momentum, Grace Brethren responded with a well taken corner kick that found Maddie Martinez. Lizzie Brown added an assist during the contest. The Lady Lancers are overall 4-1-2 on the season, and 1-0 in league.

Boys' Soccer came away with a big road win against league foe Villanova Prep on January 11th.
Grace Brethren graduate Sammi Fisher (‘17) had an unexpected surprise during this Christmas season! Sammi found herself rejoicing with her family as she was drafted during the National Women’s Soccer League Draft on December 18th, 2021. The Simi Valley native was drafted 19th overall by the Chicago Red Stars.
Lancer Boys' and Girls' basketball teams have taken the floor this season with excitement and determination. After spending a year off from competition, both programs have experienced a growth in student-athlete interest and in community excitement. Boys' basketball is currently 3-7 with 5 games left in pre-league play. Girls basketball competed well in their first game agasint cross town giant Royal High School. The Lady Lancers were lead by the ace shooting from Senior Allison Reimer.
It is a blessing to have an incredibly talented staff. This year, some of our staff lead Christmas carols for the Jr/Sr High School chapel.
Grace Brethren's Vocal Department presented the show "Believe" on December 9th and 10th. Performances of Christmas and holiday songs concluded with a stirring rendition of Silent Night. The choir ensembles were accentuated by numerous soloists as our students used their talents to encourage the audience to investigate belief.
The Lady Lancers are currently 2-0 on the season with big wins against cross town giant Simi Valley HS on December 1st and Rio Mesa HS on December 3rd. In their 3-0 win vs Simi Valley HS, Jaidyn Wilson scored two goals while Prya Torres added one. In their next match, great skill was on display at Rio Mesa HS where Madelyn Martinez scored 3 goals for the Lancers to win 3-1. Late in the game, Rio Mesa had a chance to score on a penalty kick, but goalie Jadyn Buckley made a diving save to preserve the two goal advantage. Way to work the field Lady Lancers!
It has been a very successful start of the season for the Lancer Boys' Soccer team. The Lancers are currently 3-0-1 on their season, with 20 goals scored collectively. Kai Terenteiff and Jeremy Larson were both awarded "player of the game" for their efforts in the wins against Santa Clara on December 2nd and against Heritage Christian on December 7th. On December 7th, Grace defeated Heritage Christian with a score of 7-0. Kai Terenteiff scored 3 goals, Jeremy Larson had 2 goals, Joseph Nandor and Alex Effarah had one a piece.
Congratulations to the Robotics A team! They recently were Tournament Champions defeating teams from Canada and Puero Rico in the playoffs. This win qualifies them for the Live Remote Tournament World Championship this Spring. Ian Nelson, Ben Solomon, Peter Wang, and Owen Zahn are the programmers, engineers, and drivers for this team.
