Grace in Motion is a full dance program offered after school on each of our three campuses.

This is an excellent way for your student to explore the world of dance in a familiar setting with a Christ-centered focus.  We are offering a wide variety of styles that will be sure to excite students of all levels and interests. Our mission is for students to grow physically, and intellectually so they excel in anything they choose to do; using dance to put Grace Brethren Schools in motion!   All classes offered through Grace in Motion are non-competitive, age-appropriate dance.  We focus on training and recreation so that students build knowledge and confidence through dance.

Grace in Motion is offered to all students.

About Mrs. Sumner

Leah Sumner started choreographing the musicals at Grace Brethren High School last year, and is thrilled to begin the new dance program, Grace in Motion, on all campuses this year. Leah has been dancing since age four, and has extensive training in modern, jazz, ballet, tap, swing, choreography and improvisation.  During her studies at Moorpark College and UC Santa Barbara she earned many awards and scholarships.  Leah was invited to be a member of the UCSB Senior Dance Company and toured with them in Italy, New York City, and throughout southern California. She also competed with the Moorpark College Swing Dance team at many national and international events. After graduating she danced professionally with Megill and Company, and in Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at Disneyland.  Leah has been teaching dance at local studios since 2006 and is delighted to share her passion for dance with the students at Grace.  Leah is married to her husband,  Justin and is a proud new mom to Riley and they have two dogs.  She has a BA in Dance from UC Santa Barbara.   Leah has a heart for God and regularly attends church and works in the mission field.
