VISUAL ARTS students are engaged in discovering their creative expression through photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, art media and yearbook design. The teaching staff is dedicated in assisting the student find the joy and confidence in their creative work. Student artwork can be found on display throughout the campus. Opportunities for the beginner or the highly skilled artist are offered at Grace.
Junior High Art is an opportunity for the young artist to develop perceptual skills and learn basic visual arts vocabulary. Using a variety of media to communicate meaning and intent in their original art works as well as learning about different art cultures. The Elements of Art and Principles of Design are introduced, as well as basic color vocabulary and mixing of colors, drawing, clay sculpture, painting, collage, paper mache and lettering are all studied in this artistic, creative, fun-filled class.
Junior High Photography students produce aesthetically pleasing, artistic and high quality photographs by developing their perceptual skills. Historical traditions in photography, current media applications, comparing photography and video are studied. Students will learn the relevance to the arts and society as a whole. Visual Arts student's may be selected to have their work displayed in locations throughout the campus.
