Senior Pitcher Hunter Watkins Throws "No Hitter" Game
Varsity Baseball was treated to a rare experience on Tuesday, April 18th when Senior Pitcher Hunter Watkins threw a complete game "No Hitter" against league opponent St. Bonaventure (Ventura). A "No Hitter" is a game in which a team was not able to record a single hit. Hunter pitched 7 innings, had 15 strikeouts, and 1 walk against Bonaventure, who came into the game tied for first place in league with Grace. With Hunter's dominance on the mound, the Lancers move into 1st place over Bonaventure in league with an undefeated 5-0 record. When asked about the game, first year head coach Eric Fuller was proud of his team for getting the win on the road. When asked about Hunter Watkins, his response was short and sweet, "Incredible performance!"
The Lancers will face St. Bonaventure again on Friday, April 21 at the Grace Baseball Diamond. First pitch is at 4:00pm.
